Southern White rhinos Nandula (M) and Tombason (F) arrived at the Zoo on 8 September 1962. Dealer Walter Schultz had captured the calves in Umfolozi National Park. At that time the calves were estimated to be about two years old. In May 1971 Nandula was moved to the San Diego Wild Animal Park. In August of the same year Tombason would join Nandula and other Southern White rhinos at the SDWAP. |
