| The greenish-brown colour of the rhinoceros in the Hahab countries and northward up to Sauakin, makes it probale that this too is R. africanus. Also in the Somali country. |

| The common rhinoceros at the Bahr el Abiad is Rhinoceros simus, of which I received nice horns of 3 3/4 inch length. Here also lives the R. africanus. |
