Lake Manyara NP covers some 30 sq.miles and lies between the western Rift valley wall and Lake Manyara as a narrow strip rarely more than a mile wide.

Census 24 April 1965. Rhino counted with eye and plotted on a 1:60,000 map. Results probably 25% low. The number counted was 20, representing biomass of 44,000 lbs.
