12 square-lipped rhino introduced from Umfolozi. A calf born in the Loskop Nature Reserve on 11 April 1964 was an event of great importance, the first birth in the Transvaal since 1896, when the square-lipped rhino became extinct. Another heifer calf was born at Loskop on 6 July 1966. |
