There seems to be no evidence that they have occurred even in southern China within historic times, unless one accepts the brief statement of Duhalde (1738) that in Kwangsi, near the city of Wuchow, `one meets here with the rhinoceros.' Nevertheless, there is nothing improbable about the report....
