R.P., signed Darjeeling, 9 Aug 1884. - Around 3 years ago deputed from Rangamati in the Hill Tracts of Chittagong to survey the country for a new patrol path between the frontier posts on the Lushai hills and the territory of hill Tippera. Traveled from Bhogmantlang eastwards towards Ekserree in hill Tipperah. Had crossed couple of ranges and encamped on tributary of the Myanee. By canoe up the river. Came across the tracks of a very young rhino. On examining the place we saw distinctly where a tiger had lain crouched on a small rise above the stream; the sand below was cut up with his tracks and those of the mother rhinoceros, and the marks of her horn where she had evidently charged the tiger were plainly visible on the clay bank. Followed the tracks of mother and young rhino up the stream, then lost in the forest. // Ekserree = Ekshari on 1889 map, about Gandacherra on google map, so place with rhino in NE extremity of Bangladesh, ca. 23.50, 92.00
