Ban on killing of rhinoceros, 1798. From King Rana Bahadur Shah, to Brahmananda Upadhyaya, Subha (of Saptari). There is a great need of rhinoceros (here). Rhinoceros are being killed in large numbers in the Tarai. You are therefore directed to prohibit everybody, whether belonging to the Moglan (i.e.India) or to our country, from killing rhinoceros.
