In Feb 1935 a rhinoceros walked into the military bivouac Kongk? (Blangkedjeren-Koetatjane) and had to be shot. Within an hour the entire animal had gone; the soldiers and local people had cut it up in pieces. Only some of it was eaten, most was cooked for the fat which is much esteemed as obat (medicine) for severe burns.
