The Department of Wildlife and National Parks set up an ad hoc Committee on Rhino Capture, with Mohd. Khan bin Momin Khan as Chairman, and other 5 members; Louis C. Ratnam, Zainal zahari Zainuddin, Zaaba Zainal Abidin, Syariff Daim, and Mohd. Tajuddin Abdullah. The resolutions of the committee's first meeting:
1. The capture of individual rhinos in threatened doomed habitats
2. The capture of individuals for breeding in captivity at Zoo Malacca and in Sungai Dusun reserve
3. Development of an effective method of capture
4. Training of personnel in the Rhino Management unit (RMU).
The RMU was to execute the decisions or recommendations of the committee.

1 female in Ulu Atok, Tenggaroh, taken to Malacca Zoo
1 female caught in Sungei Dusun, taken to Malacca Zoo
