Original text on this topic:
Wetzel. Rhinoceros. Erste unverbesserliche Auflage. Nurnberg, Johann Adam Stein, pp. 1-172. The subtitle is a lyrical-didactical poem, in one chant.
The rhinoceros is not actually part of the play or poem. The name Rhinoceros is explained in the notes, p.159:
?Rhinoceros (title of the poem), a beast from the hot parts of Africa, with a large horn on the nose. See Raffs Naturgeschichte fur Kinder. In German the animal is called Nashorn, but Rhinoceros sounds more foreign and classy, for which reason I liked the name.'
