On 7 May [1933] there arrived in the Artis Zoo the young rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) caught in the region of Kilima-Ndjaro and Mero?. The animal had many ticks, mostly roaming free, and all except one being males. I received the material for determination from Dr H Engel after being caught by the conservator, J.B. Corporaal. There were 10 Hyalomma impressum C.L. koch albiparmatum P. Schulze 1919 (det. P. Schulze); 15 Amblyomma gemma D?nitz 1909; 2 Amblyomma marmoreum C.L. Koch 1844; 2 Dermacentor rhinocerotis (De Geer 1778); 30 Rhipicephalus sanguineus (Latr. 1806) and 2 Rhipicephalus pulchellus (Gerst. 1873).
