drought in 1933. The drought made that rhinoceros, having fallen into wells in their effort to get water, were too weak to extricate themselves again. During the last week of the drought season six rhino died at Laisamis in this fashion, and one was dragged out by natives and ran off. The same thing happened to other wells, but at Laisamis, there was a well with a narrow entrance between two rocks and of these six rhinos three had got stuck between the rocks.
