Sample of keratin from rhinoceros horn. High-sulphur protein was extracted from the keratin. A figure shows the polyacrylamide gel electrophoretic pattern. The study shows that keratin samples which have different electrophoretic patterns can be judged as coming from animals of different species, although identical patterns do not necessarily mean identity of animal source.
