Original text on this topic:
117. Rhinoceros. ?Joh.El. Ridinger ad vivum del fec et exc. Aug. Vind.' It is a well executed illustration, lively and nicely coloured. Too bad that it is so little known or used for books of natural history.
118. Rhinoceros. ?J. El. Ridinger fec. et exc. A.V.' Rhinoceros with two horns. It is evident that the name on this drawing is the same as that of the previous one and the two horns are not mentioned. It is clear that in fact it is the same animal, lying down. Why is there the second horn? The same drawing is known with a single horn. Ridinger obviously just added the second horn as a phantasy.
