From Umfolozi, 144 white rhino were distributed during 1971. They were sent to: Transvaal 29, Orange Free State 1, South West Africa 12, Swaziland 44, Germany 16, Holland 20, USA 22. The countries mentioned are those of first destination and do not necessarily represent their final home. The grand total of white rhino translocated up to 31 March 1972 stood at 933.
