Ceratotherium simum. During February and March 1939, Captain Salmon investigated the white rhino situation in the West Nile and West Madi districts. As far as numbers, there appears to be a 50 % increase since the last investigation was made 10 years ago. Captain Salmon is of the opinion that there must be at least 220 white rhinos. According to season, it is likely to be found throughout West Madi and in a great part of the West Nile district, its range extending from the Sudan border in the north to Pakwach and Panyamur in the south.
