The Endangered Wildlife Trust continued to support the running costs to Blythe Loutit. The population continued to increase steadily and a system of monthly surveys in different regions was instituted after Blythe moved to Khorixas in Damaraland. In February 1988 it was believed that the population had passed the 100 mark.
