A black rhino had to be destroyed after being found with a wire snare attached to the hind leg. The wire had, during the animal's struggle to free itseld, completely severed the foot from the leg and it only remained attached by the tendons. The wound had also become gangrenous. Despite its terrible injury it made a gallant effort to charge when being destroyed.
