In 1965 there were fewer than 100 black rhinos in the whole of the country, and less than 30 in Etosha.
Thus SWA has a minimum number of 351 rhinos, and an estimated population of 400.
The carrying capacity of white rhinos in South West African reserves is ca. 1000 plus.
