Doddieburn, a former ranch that is now State Land. Here, a further 22 white rhino are thought to be threatened by the drought and are being captured and penned. Three are destined for Algeria, together with a number of cheetah.

In Dec 1963 a pair was brought from South Africa to the Zoological park at Livingstone. Another pair went to Kafue NP, where the male died, and the female was transferred to Livingstone. Several calves have been born at Livingstone, and when I left Zambia in 1974 there was a total of 5 animals.

About arrival of Zuluana on 29 June 1946, no breeding of this animal. Pretoria had white rhino births from other mothers on 8 June 1967 (male) and 23 oct 1969 (male). The last was called Sewentig.

On 13 Nov 1961 an immature female captured near the newly forming Lake Kariba was moved to Wankie and housed in a paddock at Main Camp. It was subsequently moved to Matopos NP as it was too small and later to the Zoo in Pretoria.
