Funds are being raised, to be used as follows:
1. As the rhino are still in the bomas, it is necessary to feed and water them.
2. Six field-staff are currentlt employed and living in tents. They need permanent living quarters and ablution facilities.
3. Borehole sites have been identified. Two boreholes should be made for human and rhino consumption. Water is currently being carted by borrowed water bowser from village of Paje, 12 km from boma.
4. Transport. The Landcruiser on site needs to be paid for.
5. An education cum visitors shelter should be constructed to protect both visitors and students from the elements.
6. Wages for administrative staff, now one person.
7. the land earmarked for the sanctuary belongs to a cattle farmer who will have to be compensated for developments.
8. Plans are to reintroduce other species.
The three rhino are doing well.
