Description: |
The image is showing the Italian artist Giulia Fontanesi (also known as "Giulia Lady-bug", <giuliafontanesi@hotmail.com>) with her needle-felt (hand-made by her-self) Pleistocene rhinoceros Stephanorhinus kirchbergensis (Jäger) reconstruction presently kept in a special glass case (see also http://www.rhinoresourcecenter.com/images/Rhinoceroses-in-the-S-Daniele-Po-Palaeontological-Museum_i1415747272.php) of the "Museo Paleoantropologico del Po" at San Daniele Po (Cremona, Northern Italy). Among many other fossil remains, the museum preserves the sole S. kirchbergensis skull ever found in Italy and one of the very few recovered on Eurasian territory. |
