Between 13 Nov 1966 and 12 March 1967, 16 males and 19 females (total 35) were received from Umfolozi. First held in holding pens 24 miles SE of Main Camp and then release between 7 December and 21 April 1967.

1966, Animals took time to settle down. 6 moved west into Botswana. 9 crossed eastern boundary where one was shot by a farmer on Dahlia Ranch on 27 Oct 1967. Other 8 returned to park.

On 13 Nov 1961 an immature female captued near the newly forming Lake Kariba was moved to Wankie and housed in a paddock at Main Camp. It was subsequently moved to Matopos NP as it was too small and later to the Zoo in Pretoria.
