Figure 4 illustrates the number of calves born between 1985 -1994 and shows that the mean number of calves born per annum over the past ten years is 2.4. Assuming that the population remains stable and that in average of 2.4 calves continue to be born each year it should be possible for the population to reach 50 rhinos by the year 2000.
