Haryono et al. (1993) report that one rhino was killed in Song Be province in 1991 and two rhino horns were offered for sale in Ho Chi Minh City in 1992. The data on which this report was made is, however, unclear. Also, authorities cannot confirm these incidents; it seems there are no official documents describing these incidents.
