Pidoung [sic] Sanctuary in the Myitkyina Forest Division of Upper Burma. The area notified by the Government of Burma as the sanctuary comprises 260 square miles of forest country. There are hills and valleys, thick evergreen forests and more open jungle; while north of the railway station are rolling downs, bare of trees, in the hollwos of which are dense thickets, also long winding green valleys filled with lush grass.
