Between 1978 and 1995, 17 white rhinos were born at Serengeti Safaripark, of whom 15 were reared succesfully. A 5-year old bull `Kai' is being reintroduced to Etosha NP in Namibia. The white rhino has been extinct in the area for the whole of this century.
