Details from www.sworders.co.uk, accessed March 2011. <br>Lot 355. The following three lots were shot by the vendor's father, Mr Theodore Wessel, Danish Ambassador to Chile, in Kenya in 1924. Wessel would have been accompanied by a white big game hunter, probably a fellow Dane named Baron Bror von Blixen, a leading professional hunter in East Africa. He was husband of the authoress Karen Blixen, best remembered for her book 'Out of Africa' which was subsequently brought to screen starring Meryl Streep and Robert Redford.<br>A pair of African black rhinoceros (Diceros bicornis) horns,mounted on an original oak shield inscribed 'Kenya BEA 1924', applied pressed metal label verso 'Griffiths, McAlister & Cook Ltd., Blackpool and London', larger horn approximately 56cm approximately 4kg Hammer: £40000.00 <br>
