On 26 February 2008, the Rhino Resource Center in conjuction with the Schueling Verlag in Munster released the monograph by Kees Rookmaaker: Encounters with the African rhinoceros. The book, A4 size, 148 pages discusses all records of the black and white rhinoceros in southern Africa in a large part of the 19th century. Many unpublished drawings and most published plates of the period are illustrated, in colour where the original is also in colour. The book costs Euro 59.
