Hi:
I am searching for an ethogram of social behaviors for Southern white rhinoceros. Specifically I want to define behavioral indicators of estrus to create a check-sheet for keepers to use to assist in management decisions (ie: when to leave the male w/ the herd for breeding). We know these behaviors from experience, but need to define them a little more scientifically to try to decrease subjective guessing. Does anyone have a copy of an ethogram used in a behavior study that might help with this?

Also, has anyone done any studies/know of any studies to validate behavioral indicators of etrus by comparing behavior to progestine levels of females?

Thanks smile.gif
