Rhinocarhire.com Announces Adoption of Five Endangered Rhinos

Rhinocarhire.com, a leading car hire company offering low cost car hire from all major international destinations, announces the adoption of five Critically Endangered Sumatran rhinos at the Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS) in Indonesia. The adoption is part of a long term conservation project with the International Rhino Foundation (IRF).

Rhinocarhire.com also intends, along with the help of the public, to support several of IRF’s rhino conservation programs including providing 20 rhino rangers with a month’s food rations, employing 10 members of anti-poaching units for the duration of a month and providing radio collars and immobilization drugs for rhino translocations. The company is encouraging people to visit the conservation site at http://www.rhinocarhire.com/conservation.aspx, to see how quickly the challenge is moving forward.

Phil Partridge, Marketing Director of Rhinocarhire.com, commented on the initiative, “We understand that there are many worthy causes that would benefit from a little support from organisations such as ourselves. This one in particular has ignited passion amongst us as a team, as many people don’t realize that rhinos are endangered species. Firstly, we will be providing funding to the International Rhino Foundation to help feed and care for the rhinos at the sanctuary. However, we do appreciate that the struggle stretches far beyond the needs of the sanctuary and any individual rhino. Therefore we have decided to set up a company challenge and are asking for public support to make it happen.”

The conservation site, set up by Rhinocarhire.com, also aims to keep fans up to date on happenings at the sanctuary, as well as educate those eager to learn about the species. Dr. Susie Ellis, IRF Executive Director, said “Rhinocarhire.com’s conservation site will help provide the general public with insight into the life and behavior of these highly endangered species. We are very grateful that Rhinocarhire has decided to implement this initiative -- these type of contributions make a huge difference in our efforts to protect rhinos from extinction.”

The Sumatran Rhino Sanctuary (SRS) is a 250-acre complex located within Way Kambas National Park in Sumatra, Indonesia. Its five rhinos – ‘Andalas’, ‘Rosa’, ‘Ratu’, ‘Torgamba’ and ‘Bina’ – are part of an intensively managed research and breeding program to gain knowledge about the Sumatran rhino with the ultimate aim of increasing the population in the wild. At the SRS, the rhinos reside in large, open areas where they can experience a natural rainforest habitat while still receiving state-of-the-art veterinary care and nutrition.

Rhinocarhire.com also supports the Rhino Resource Center.

Rhinocarhire.com is a family run business that was established in 2007. The company started out as an online car hire broker but is quickly evolving into a successful all round travel service with additional offerings such as airport parking, lounges and hotels available since early last year. Rhinocarhire.com prides itself on being a customer orientated brand that understands the importance of customer satisfaction and retention.
